Install Picasa 3.0 for Linux (beta)

If you use Google's Picasa Web Albums to share photos online, Google now has a Linux version of the Picasa desktop client. There are three binary packages available for download:

picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm

    for Red Hat/Fedora/Suse/Mandriva i386 or x86_64

picasa_3.0-current_i386.deb

    for Debian/Ubuntu i386

picasa_3.0-current_amd64.deb

    for Debian/Ubuntu amd64

Download the appropriate file for your distribution. For Ubuntu, just double click on the .deb file and the Gdebi Package Installer should open up. Read more

Windows 7 Won’t Close the Door For Linux

Yesterday on PCMag.com, Lance Ulanoff had a post stating that Windows 7 Starter Won't Open any Doors for Android or Linux. I have to agree with Mr. Ulanoff, but not for the same reason. Windows 7 Starter Edition won't open any doors because Windows Vista already opened the door. Read more
