Install the Fedora 10 Desktop Theme in Ubuntu
One of the common complaints heard about Ubuntu is that some people just don't care for the brown theme that's applied by default. Many who have tried Fedora 10 have commented on the clean appearance of the theme. Thanks to the open source nature of Linux, it's not too hard to get your Ubuntu desktop to look like the one from Fedora 10.
If you've been following my blog, you have all the pieces required to make your Ubuntu desktop look like Fedora 10.
- Install the Nodoka Theme Engine and the Nodoka Theme.
- Install the Echo Icon Theme.
- Download the Fedora 10 wallpaper.
- Install the Fedora 10 mouse cursors.
After you've done all this you may want to save your new Fedora 10 Theme in the Appearance Preferences.

Download the Fedora 10 Wallpaper
This post is part of the process to Install the Fedora 10 Theme in Ubuntu.
If you've tried the Fedora 10 Linux distribution, then you've seen the cool default Solar theme. The centerpiece of this theme is the Solar wallpaper. This wallpaper is available from the Fedora Artwork site.
If you have a 4:3 ratio monitor you can choose the version you like best from here.
If you have a 16:10 monitor, choose one from here.
Download the picture you like and save it to your home directory. Right click on the desktop and select Change Desktop Background. Click on Add and select your new picture. Choose the Style you like. I prefer Zoom. Now click Close and you're good to go.
